III.1 BRILLIANT RESULTS

Swissvax Information

First impressions
The perfect paint finish on your car is like a business card, you therefore should make the right choice when it comes to the products you use to take care of your dream. After all, a good craftsman only works with the best tools. And furthermore, please bear in mind that when it comes to car care, you are investing your most precious asset into your automobile – your time!

Enjoying your car
When caring for your automobile in the right way including the paintwork care and protection programme, the regular washing followed by reapplication of preservatives – you don’t have to fear any environmental influences, be it in summer or in winter. Appropriate regular car care will not only increase the joy you find in your vehicle but will also make this joy last a lot longer. In fact, everything you do for your car’s “skin” is guaranteed to pay off – in terms of a longer lifetime (combined with a very attractive appearance) and many miles on the road in together.

The best for the best
To experience such joy, you best choose a premium car care system like Swissvax – admittedly the most expensive, but also the best car wax in the world. No wonder that Swissvax products are used worldwide to care for many of the most valuable vintage cars and are the choice of the world’s best manufacturers in the automotive industry such as Rolls-Royce, Spyker, Lamborghini and Mercedes-Benz which offer their customers high-quality Swissvax products in their own car care ranges.

Preserving the “new car” appearance
To keep your automobile in perfect condition from the very beginning on and protect it therein, we highly recommend that to have the paintwork sealed with Swissvax at delivery: this way, the “as new” appearance is preserved for much longer and reliable protection of the paintwork is guaranteed. It's best to be on the safe side.

«Swissvax Paint Protection System»
Protecting your car from day one onwards
Nowadays, new cars are often shipped with nothing more than a thin plastic film for protection. And local dealers also save on the finish and protection work prior to delivery and you receive a new car with virtually unprotected paintwork. When you acquire a brand new automobile, ask your brand dealer to have the vehicle treated with the Swissvax Paint Protection System prior to delivery or pass the vehicle into the capable hands of a Swissvax Car Care Center. After the first Swissvax protection treatment you may then carry out the subsequent car care routine yourself using Swissvax.

The Swissvax concept
The core of the Swissvax concept is that the care needs and requirements for Swissvax products all originate from the daily life of collectors and enthusiasts and the daily business of professionals. Therefore, Swissvax products form a consistent and complete car care line with perfectly compatible and fine-tuned products allowing you to take care of every detail of your automobile.

Non-abrasive paintwork preparationl
The first step on the way to a perfectly finished automobile is the essential pre-treatment using Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular. Cleaner Fluid Regular is an abrasive-free nourishing paintwork pre-treatment which instead of abrasives uses “heavy” polishing oils to give the vehicle paintwork an extremely smooth surface and caters for the necessary basis for the subsequent sealing with a Swissvax carnauba wax of your choice by completely removing any layers of old wax and other deposits.

Fine scratches are removed with Cleaner Fluid Regular. The following pages will explain to you how and with which Cleaner Fluid formulation you can solve problem cases too.

Simply apply a thin layer with your bare hands, leave for a few minutes and polish off easily, without annoying residues or never-ending polishing required. Swissvax waxes offer the tremendous benefit of leaving no white residue on edges or in bodywork crevices.

Problems?
Some problems can be solved, others can’t – and we are experts to advise you how to best approach them. In difficult cases, satisfactory results often depend both on profound material science and many years of practical experience as well. Swissvax Information

CLEANER FLUID REGULAR

Pre-treatment
For pre-treatment use Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular. This solution preserves and nourishes the paintwork using “heavy” polishing oils and contains no abrasives at all. It completely removes minor scratches, tar, tree resin and old wax. Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular does stop at the healthy paint layer without scratching it.

Although conventional polishes with abrasives do pretty much the same job your paintwork suffers from the disadvantage that they start scouring away at the paint as their abrasive particles continue working through a new paint layer as well.

Swissvax Handbook Content

HOW TO USE CLEANER FLUID REGULAR Paintwork Pretreatment
1. Wash and dry the car thoroughly.
2. Apply Swissvax Pneu or Protecton to all exterior plastic parts before starting work on the paintwork. This ensures that the plastic parts will not absorb Cleaner Fluid or wax that may accidently be getting on it.
3. Using a Swissvax Cotton Applicator (white), apply Cleaner Fluid Regular liberally in an even back-and-forth, crosswise motion (avoid circular motions) over a complete area, e.g. the bonnet or both wings.
4. Spread the Cleaner Fluid, applying light pressure (with back-and-forth strokes) until the surface is evenly “nourished”.
5. Do not let the fluid dry. Wipe off the Cleaner Fluid Regular with a fresh, dry Swissvax Cloth and polish the treated paint area with short, back and forth movements (this makes most painted surfaces squeak). Keep turning the cloth to expose fresh and clean surface. Alternatively use a Swissvax MicroPolish microfibre cloth (blue), but no standard microfibre cloths available from the supermarket, as these might cause scratches in the paintwork.

IMPORTANT
After treating your vehicle with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid, do not drive it until the paintwork has been sealed and protected with a Swissvax wax again!

STEP 2 - CLEANER FLUID MEDIUM

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Medium is a light abrasive polish which was developed for the use on paintworkwhich is slightly weathered or shows minor to medium signs of wear. It removes fine to medium scratches, overspray and slightly matt patches.

Cleaner Fluid Medium is applied evenly to the affected area, using substantial pressure, so that the micro-granules contained rub against one another, wearing themselves down and making the polish progressively finer. This enables you to work on individual areas, beginning each time with a powerful abrasive effect which is gradually reduced through rubbing, thus producing a finer and smoother surface. The abrasive effect of Cleaner Fluid Medium can be easily controlled to ensure that only an absolute minimum of the surface layer is removed.

Swissvax Handbook Content

HOW TO USE CLEANER FLUID MEDIUM light-abrasive Paintwork Pre-Treatment
1. Wash and dry the car thoroughly (only if the Paint Rubber was not used beforehand).
2. Apply Swissvax Pneu or Protecton to all exterior plastic parts before starting work on the paintwork. This ensures that the plastic parts will not absorb any Cleaner Fluid or wax that may accidently be getting on it.
3. Apply Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Medium evenly to the paint surface and rub in with substantial pressure using a Swissvax Puck applicator (black). Rubbing causes the product’s micro-granules to wear each other down, which produces a progressively finer abrasive polish.
4. Work on one small section at a time, each no larger than 1m2. Then buff to a high gloss with a Swissvax Cloth or MicroAbsorb microfibre cloth (pink).

IMPORTANT
After treating your vehicle with Swissvax Cleaner Fluid, do not drive it until the paintwork has been sealed and protected with a Swissvax wax again!

STEP 2 - CLEANER FLUID STRONG + MEDIUM

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Strong is a medium to strong abrasive polish which mechanically removes scratches, overspray, severe oxidation and corrosion (e.g. from bird droppings) from the painted surface.

Like Cleaner Fluid Medium, Cleaner Fluid Strong is applied evenly to the affected areas of the paintwork, using strong pressure, so that the microgranules wear each other down, making the polish progressively finer. This enables you to work on individual areas, beginning each time with a powerful abrasive effect which is gradually reduced through rubbing, thus producing a finer and smoother surface.

After you have treated the problem areas with Cleaner Fluid Strong, prepare them for wax sealing using Cleaner Fluid Medium (not Cleaner Fluid Regular!).

STEP 2 - CLEANER FLUID PROFESSIONAL

Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Professional is a high-performance polish with self-adjusting variable abrasive effect designed for the use with a rotary polisher. It was developed for the use on new paintwork as well as on all painted surfaces with light to medium wear. Cleaner Fluid Professional, a one-stage polish, streamlines the conventional two-stage polishing processes on freshly sprayed paintwork by eliminating the need for follow-up polishing, while still enhancing the surface quality, all combined into one compact polishing process. Hologramming and fog are completely removed due to the state-of-the-art nano-polishing technology. The time savings are truly impressive and Cleaner Fluid professional opens up significant new potential for treating used vehicles.

Select a polisher with adjustable speed (rotary or semi-orbital machines). To remove scratches, use higher revolutions in conjunction with harder foam polishing pads or sheepskin polishing pads. To remove hologramming and swirl marks, select a lower speed and use soft foam polishing pads. Our application specialists will be pleased to advise you competently and free of charge. You can contact them via telephone and e-mail or speak to them personally during a visit at our Swiss production factory or one of our international branches.

III.7 PREMIUM VEHICLE SEALING

Swissvax Information

SWISSVAX WAXES

The art of composition
It's just like skin care: first comes the deep cleaning, followed by the care measurements perfectly matched to the skin type. When it comes to the care of automobile paintwork, pore-deep cleansing is the essential basis for perfect adhesion and impressive results. The internationally popular Swissvax concept has established this principle with its extensive product range of automotive waxes. Our unique Cleaner Fluid is used to achieve immaculately deep cleaning. It is unique because this solution preserves and nourishes the paintwork without needing abrasives. Scratched and weathered paintwork can be pre-treated with Cleaner Fluid Medium or Strong (see previous chapters).

The next step is to seal the painted surface. Waxes with an as high carnauba wax content as up to 100% may provide a high degree of shine, but are also known to suffer a significant lack of durability and tend to show the negative effects of streaking and the build up of “dust” in the wax coating.

To formulate and blend a wax in the perfect composition resulting in the perfect combination of key properties is considered as a science of its own and by many also as an art. The careful blending of the carnauba wax with other waxes, PTFE, fruit oils and other ingredients is what allows us to achieve a perfect gloss and finish, best protection, impressive longevity and proverbial ease of application combinedly in one wax.

The combination of the finest ingredients, manual blending processes and tailoring the waxes to the bespoke needs of different types of paintwork and application requirements is what Swissvax is about.

Therefore, it is no wonder that Swissvax is the brand of choice for vehicle manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce Motorcars, Automobili Lamborghini, Mercedes-Benz Classic, Spyker Cars and Automobiles Bugatti.

Great value for money
Swissvax waxes are great value for money because a little goes a very long way. Be sure to apply them very sparingly. A thin layer is sufficient for thorough protection as long as it consistently coats the entire surface. Used with the correct application technique, a can of wax should easily last for 25 applications. Your automobiles will benefit from a highly durable quality sealing and perfect finish that is much more economical in terms of longevity, effort and cost than it may initially appear at first glance.

The necessity of paintwork pre-treatment
It is essential to pre-treat paintwork with one of our Cleaner Fluid’s prior to the wax application as this is required in order to ensure that the paintwork surface is 100% clean and the wax may successfully adhere to the paintwork surface.

Swissvax Handbook Content

HOW TO USE UNIVERSAL AND SPECIAL WAXES
1. Apply Swissvax wax with a Swissvax Sponge-applicator (black) or with the palm of your hand to form an even wax film on the paintwork.
2. Let the wax work in for several minutes, but make sure that it does not dry.
3. Gently wipe the wax film with a Swissvax Wax Cloth (red) and then polish to a high gloss with a Swissvax MicroPolish microfibre cloth (blue). Keep turning the cloth to expose a clean surface.
4. Do not touch the paintwork for three hours and, at the next opportunity, position your automobile in thedirect sun after waxing. You will be able to observe how the lustre becomes deeper and more intense as the hours go by.
5. If necessary, buff the surface again quickly using a clean Swissvax Micro - Polish microfibre cloth (blue).

HOW TO USE THE PTFE WAX SHIELD
1. Pre-treat the paintwork with the Swissvax Paint Rubber (see index) and Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Regular (see index). The smoother the surface to be waxed, the more impressive the PTFE effect will be, which is why a Swissvax Paint Rubber is always supplied with Swissvax Shield Wax.
2. Proceed as described in «Universal and Special Waxes».

Swissvax Handbook Tip

INSIDER TIP
The traditional way to apply Swissvax wax on the paint finish is directly with the palms of your hands. First take a small (!) amount of wax from the container and then rub it into your palms (remove any rings beforehand). This way, the body warmth is transferred into the wax making it more liquid and easier to spread evenly on the surface and you avoid applying too much wax and furthermore are able to feel any irregularities still present on the surface.

If you should notice a “streaky” fog of wax on the paintwork during or after application, rub the surface again with a clean Swissvax MicroPolish microfibre cloth (blue) and allow the wax to work in for a few minutes longer prior to polishing for the next time that you wax the automobile.
